From the President Each month Chamber President and CEO, Matt Meadors, writes a letter in The Chamber's newsletter, which is embedded in the Evansville Business Journal. Here you can read his monthly "From the President" column. Letter from the President - October 2011 The Chamber's recently-conducted Annual Meeting and
Dinner was a dynamite evening.
Our Keynote Speaker, Donald V. Esmond, Senior Vice-President of
Toyota Motor Sales USA, delivered a dynamic, world-class presentation.
Special thanks to our friends at Toyota Motor Manufacturing,
Indiana, for helping us bring Mr. Esmond
to our region. In addition to Mr. Esmond's keynote presentation, the evening featured an overview of The Chamber's activities and impacts over the past year, and a look ahead at the organization's planned program of work for fiscal year 2011-2012. You can view The Chamber's annual report and program of work by visiting our website at www.ccswin.com. Further, we named The Chamber's annual award recipients. I would like to extend my warmest congratulations to Uniseal's Stephani Catt, Richard A. Schlottman Business Person of the Year; Anchor Industries' Dave Conner, Volunteer of the Year; and the Evansville Courier & Press, Norman P. Wagner Business of the Year. I would like to take a moment to thank our retiring directors, Tim Deisher of BKD, John Stratman of Stratman's Pharmacy, and John Key of Integra Bank, for their service to their Chamber. These folks spent many hours working to make The Chamber of Commerce of Southwest Indiana a respected, impactful organization. Also, I would like to welcome our new directors, Keith Messmer of BKD; Doros Hadjisavva of Acropolis; Mike Head of First Federal Savings Bank; Trudy Stock of Harding, Shymanski & Co.; Matt Taylor, Your PD&S Agent; and Tracy Zeller, Tracy Zeller Jewelry. As you can see, we have a great new cadre of business men and women assuming leadership roles within the organization. Your Chamber will continue to be in good hands. On Friday, October 21, The Chamber, in partnership
with A Network of Evansville Women (ANEW), will name the 2011 recipient
of the ATHENA Award at the 22nd annual ATHENA Awards Luncheon.
I would like to congratulate all of the nominees for this year's
recognition award, including the finalists, as follows: Patty Avery - Old National Bank I hope you will join
us for this year's ATHENA Awards Luncheon.
As always, thank you for your continued support of your chamber of commerce. Sincerely,
Matthew T. Meadors |
